There are many 19th century settler’s churches in eastern Ontario, Canada. These churches were built by early European setters who were primarily of British and Irish origin, and were an important part of the social and cultural fabric of the communities in which they were located. Many of these churches are still standing today and are considered to be historical landmarks.
