The Queluz Palace is a Portuguese 18th-century place located in Queluz, a suburb of Lisbon. It was built as a summer residence for King Peter III, who was married to Queen Maria 1 of Portugal. The palace is known for its beautiful gardens, which were designed in the formal French style and feature a variety of plants, trees, and flowers.

The gardens were designed by the French landscape architect Jean Baptiste Robillon, who was responsible for creating many of the gardens at the Palace of Versailles in France. At Qeuluz, he created a series of terraces, parterres, and fountains that were designed to be viewed from the palace’s balconies and windows. The gardens also include a number of ornamental statues and sculptures, as well as a small lake.

The tile canal wall at the Queluz Palace is a decorative feature that was designed to enhance the beauty of the palace’s gardens. The wall is made of ceramic tiles and is decorated with intricate patterns and designs that depict a variety of subjects, including plants, animals, and figures from classical mythology.

The tile canal wall is an important example of Portuguese tilework, which is a traditional craft that has a long history in the country. Portuguese tiles, known as azulejos, are made from clay and are fired in a kiln to harden them. They are then glazed and decorated with intricate patterns and designs.

In addition to their decorative function, the tile canal wall at Queluz serves an important structural role as it helps to support the water in the canal and prevents erosion of the surrounding soil. The tiles also help to regulate the temperature of the water in the canal, making it more comfortable for plants and animals to live in.

Overall, the tile canal at Queluz is an important part of the palaces’s history and is a key element of the palace’s gardens. It is beautiful example of Portuguese tilework and serves both decorative and functional purposes.
