Marlow Stainfield is currently based in Ottawa, Ontario. His work is whimsical, fun, and often times cheeky. He has chosen to work primarily with watercolour, but in recent days has revisited oil and acrylic on canvas and on big bits of wood he has found around town.
He spent many of his formative years learning to recreate and complete the works of his late father Sylvain P. Cousineau. He is greatly influenced by his fathers work. They both share motifs, techniques, and humour, but Marlow’s colour, subject, and attitude strip away the darkness and cynicism of his father’s work and replace it with a “joie de vivre”.
